Caroline Senkowicz is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) with a deep passion for supporting the mental health and emotional development of children, teens, and families. Caroline has worked in clinical and community settings including private practice, higher education outreach programs, treatment centers, and child welfare services. She specializes in providing evidence-based psychotherapy through play based therapy, trauma-informed care, expressive arts-based interventions, and family-centered interventions.
Caroline’s areas of focus include anxiety, trauma, behavioral challenges, emotional regulation, and life transitions. She utilizes Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), expressive arts, and mindfulness techniques—tailored to meet the unique needs of each child, individual, and family she works with.
Outside of private practice, Caroline serves as the South Florida Project Manager for Florida State University’s College of Social Work, where she develops and delivers therapeutic research programs for youth ages 5–18 with a focus on trauma recovery, coping skills, and emotional resilience. She also continues to facilitate expressive arts-based sessions at local treatment facilities.
Caroline began her career in the child welfare system as a Case Manager in Jacksonville, Florida, where she coordinated care for children and families navigating dependency and legal systems. Her commitment to advocacy and whole-family healing was shaped early through her roles working with children with diverse needs and foster care youth.
She holds a Master of Social Work from Florida State University and a Bachelor’s degree in Psychology from the University of North Florida. Caroline is certified in Cognitive Behavioral Intervention for Trauma in Schools (CBITS), Social-Emotional Intervention for Early Childhood, and is a former Certified Child Welfare Case Manager. She is also trained in crisis intervention, motivational interviewing, and expressive therapeutic modalities.
Caroline’s therapeutic style is rooted in empathy, creativity, and a deep respect for each child’s individual experience. Through the lens of play based therapy, she helps children safely process their emotions, build coping skills, and strengthen relationships with caregivers. She believes in partnering with families to foster emotional growth and resilience that lasts beyond the therapy room.

Individual therapy offers one-on-one counseling, available in-person or through secure virtual sessions, to meet each client’s unique needs. This service helps individuals address a wide range of psychological and emotional concerns, including anxiety, trauma, stress, relationship difficulties, and substance use issues. Through a supportive and collaborative process, clients gain a deeper understanding of their thoughts, emotions, and behaviors, while developing effective strategies for managing challenges and improving both personal and interpersonal well-being.
In-person play based therapy service offers children, typically 3-12 years old, a safe and supportive space to explore emotions, build coping skills, and work through challenges using the natural language of play. Guided by a experienced therapist, sessions help children express themselves, process experiences, and develop healthier behaviors and relationships. While designed for young children, play based therapy can also be beneficial for older children or adults with cognitive impairments who may struggle with traditional talk-based approaches.
In-person art therapy services offer a compassionate and creative approach to healing, allowing individuals to explore and express emotions through various art forms. Sessions provide a non-verbal outlet for self-discovery and healing. Art therapy is effective for addressing challenges such as anxiety, trauma, grief, and stress, helping clients to processcomplex feelings and develop healthier coping strategies. No artistic experience is necessary—just a willingness to engage in the creative process.
